The A+ Program is designed to make higher education at 2 year institutions in Missouri more affordable for Missouri students.
Coach Brett Reed is Hartville High School's A+ Coordinator.
A+ Requirements:
High School Students
If you want to qualify for the A+ program:
Freshmen--Sign the A+ contract handed out by Coach Reed. Make sure your attendance, citizenship and behavior are EXCELLENT!
Sophomores--Again--EXCELLENT attendance, citizenship and behavior.
Also, if you tutor younger students during these 2 years (not siblings) make sure to keep track of dates and times and have an adult supervisor sign your time log.
Juniors & Seniors--Again--EXCELLENT attendance, citizenship and behavior.
AND you can peer tutor during this time.
Peer tutoring is a class (you get credit for it) where you are assigned an elementary/junior high classroom to work in for 1 hour of the day. During this time, you should be working with students--no copying or grading papers or running errands. Keep a time log and have your supervising teacher sign it each day/week. Turn these timesheets in to Coach Reed.
AFTER GRADUATION: If you meet all requirements, your transcript will be stamped with the A+ stamp and signed by Coach Reed. It will then be sent to the higher education institution you will be attending. This will ensure that your college knows you qualify for A+ funding and they will apply the funds to your account.
NOTES:
A+ only covers TUITION! It will not cover other fees (technology, etc), room & board, or books.
You have to fill out the FAFSA in order to use A+ (actually if you are going to college at all). If you qualify for a Pell Grant, it will apply first, so you may not use A+, even if you meet those requirements.
